Dear Ms Graham,
I am ready to take on the challenge of your Admissions Officer position and am very confident that I will exceed your expectations.
I can support your University in achieving its student recruitment targets and in attracting the most able and motivated students around.
When making a decision I look for evidence of a student’s passion for their chosen subject, a positive attitude towards study and an ability to preserve and complete tasks. I aim to get to know each student’s unique needs, potential and situation before I come to a conclusion.
As an all rounder I know what appeals to students and what does not. Furthermore, I can quickly familiarise myself with a universities policies and procedures and aim to comply with these at all times. I must also mention that I have extensive knowledge of the US college system, and experience of working in a higher education setting.
Since 2016 I have been working at …………., where I handle admissions enquiries, make offers, check matriculation requirements, calculate fees and advise on qualifications. In my role I work closely with staff in academic departments as well as with a number of external organisations.
On a personal level I am committed to encouraging gifted applicants onto programmes, particularly those from underrepresented groups. I also like to think that I have the personal gravitas needed to play an ambassadorial role for any school that I represent.
Right now I am keen to join an institution like yours that will allow me to grow and that is in favour of my progression and promotion. Please find attached my current resume for your careful consideration. I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience.
