Date: 2nd March 2011
Ref: Retail Assistant Vacancy

Dear Mr Brown

I am contacting you to enquire about whether you have a vacancy for a Retail Assistant at your store.

I ask because I am keen on securing such a position with a reputable, exciting and fast growing business such as yours. I have considerable experience in this sector and believe that there would be a good fit between my work experience and skills and any vacancy you have.

I am currently employed as a shop assistant at Central Men’s Clothes Store, where I have a proven track record of driving sales forward. My duties include greeting customers, providing them with exceptional customer service, stock taking and opening and closing the store.

My CV, which is enclosed contains much more detailed information about me and further outlines my abilities and future potential.

I would be grateful if you would contact me if you do have any relevant positions or if you would kindly keep my details on file for any future positions that arise.

I thank you for your time and consideration in reading my letter and I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours faithfully

Mr Richard Jones
