Logistics professionals are workers who manage a supply chain for a logistics company or organisation. Within the logistics jobs industry there are many different job titles that you could apply for, like supply chain manager jobs. In addition the people who work within logistics are responsible for warehouse management, inventory control , transport management, information systems, logistics planning and analysis, transport and supply chain management.

There are many different levels of employment in the jobs is logistics industry, this is because it is such a wide field of employment, encompassing fields like admin clerks or agents, couriers just to name a few supply chain logistics jobs. You could be a driver who drives a HGV to deliver cargo and freight to a port for export. Freight forwarders come under the logistics as distribution jobs. Freight forwarders are responsible for arranging the export of containers abroad, out of the United Kingdom.

The supply chain is started when a customer places an order. The supply chain makes sure that the product that has been ordered, this could be a car for an individual, or a large number of chocolate bars for a trader, reaches the customer who placed the order.

Training and qualifications required
Many new entrants, with a managerial post have a degree or professional qualification but entering with GCSEs or A levels is still possible. There are a wide variety of degree courses in logistics, international trade, supply chain management, export studies and overseas business.

Personal qualities needed
Trainee managers should be responsible because logistics can offer early responsibility, you also need to be able to motivate others and enjoy a challenge. Other skills, which are essential, include organisational, numerical and people management skills. In addition, knowing a foreign language is also an advantage.
