Metro Bank is reportedly planning to open 12 branches across the country this year and aims to create 900 new jobs at the same time. This will take its total number of UK employees to nearly 4,000. The lender has also announced plans to launch a contact centre in Ilford creating more than 100 new positions. The new centre will be directly above its existing High Road store.

The challenger bank has ambitious plans for the future and aims to expand its branch network from about 50 to 100 by 2020, creating 2,500 extra jobs in the process. It says that since its launch in 2010, it has created over 3000 jobs, 596 of which were recruited last year in 2017.
