Dear Ms Graham,

I feel that I am well suited to your Volunteer program and would like to find out more about it and also be considered for your current vacancy.

I am very passionate about particular projects and causes, especially the one your organisation supports. I also believe that actions speak louder than words, and subsequently want to offer my services to you. I am willing to volunteer for both short as well as long periods of time, and have no problem being away from home for months on end. I also understand that in your organisation full support and supervision is given throughout the volunteering period, this is important to me and is another reason why I want to put my name forward and join you.

I have a strong desire to help those less fortunate than myself. In the past I been on projects in Asia, Africa as well as Latin America, and so don’t have a problem travelling abroad and working in foreign countries.

On a personal level I am an open minded individual who is not prejudiced in any way. I am very accepting of different cultures and aside from being a fluent English speaker am also fluent in Spanish, Swahili and French.

I should also mention that I am a self-employed Electrician, and therefore do not have to give in a notice to any employer. Needless to say that I am willing to use my electrical skills to serve your good cause. If required I can provide you with excellent references from the previous charities that I have volunteered with. I thank you for your time and look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,
