Dear …………,

In response to your recent advertisement on the Dayjob.com website for a Typist, I would like to be considered for the position and have attached my CV with this letter for your kind consideration.

I have a keen eye for detail, fast fingers and an above-average WPM typing speed.

As an outstanding individual who has superb keyboard skills needed to produce letters, reports and other important documents, I feel I would be a perfect fit for your position.

My past experience of taking documentation standards to the next level, qualifications and future potential fit extremely well with the requirements of your vacancy. In particular I want to highlight my ability to make very few typing errors, and when I do, to quickly identify and correct them.

My extensive experience of remaining focused whilst doing repetitive work for long periods of time is well documented in the attached CV. In it you will see that I can also actively maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information. All of this is on top of my ability to transcribe dictations and type notes at conversation pace. My key strengths include;

  • Good command of the English language, and all relevant grammar, spelling, punctuation, vocabulary and arithmetic.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in handling documents and data.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft office, specifically Word and Excel.

Since 2023, I have been working in a very fast paced and busy environment, where I am required to type up reports, letters, manuscripts, and other documents. On an average day I will input data into databases, spreadsheets, or other systems, ensuring that the information is accurate and correctly formatted.

The work that I do with my present employer has equipped me to develop a high level of concentration and be able to remain focused in a noisy environment where there are a lot of distractions. Through my career I have become familiar with word processing software, spreadsheets, databases, and other relevant tools.

On a personal level I am a self-disciplined individual, who has demonstrably good time management skills along with the ability to simultaneously manage a number of priorities.

Please refer to the attached CV for more details of my competencies. If acceptable, I will contact you next week to confirm your receipt of my application, however please free to contact me if you require clarification or any further information. Should you find interest in my application, then I will be available for an interview at your convenience.

Yours sincerely,
