Your company recently posted an opening for a Kitchen Manager on the Dayjob.com website, this is a role that seems to fit my precise competencies and for which I am enthusiastically applying.
I come to you as a capable applicant who is able to prepare food to order according to recipe, procedures, quality and speed levels.
At my current place of work I spend most of my time performing managerial duties pertaining to the running of a busy kitchen. I am primarily involved in controlling food cost by establishing purchasing specifications, and keeping an eye on unnecessary expenditure. In addition to this I am responsible for;
- Monitoring the food and beverage quality.
- Keeping an eye on necessary repair and maintenance issues.
- Ensuring 100 per cent compliance with all relevant safety related regulations, policies and laws.
My present employer is very satisfied with my work rate, and has commended me on my ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion on matters of consequence to the restaurant. Furthermore, I possess the entrepreneurial spirit needed to achieve set targets and financial goals.
I believe that hospitality comes from the heart and because of this go out of my way to ensure an excellent level of service is given to all of the people who eat food prepared in my kitchen.
During my career I have gained experience of all of those managerial competencies you seek in a candidate. I specifically want to point out skill at plate presentation, production time standards, food preparation and recipe adherence.
