Dear Ms Graham,
I would like to introduce myself as a candidate for the Mechanical Technician position that your company advertised yesterday on the Dayjob.com website.
I have a strong mechanical aptitude, an absolute commitment to perfection and a proven record of coming up with technical insights to complex issues. I can develop process improvements that will ensure maximum uptime and product quality.
My career to date has given me vast experience of using a variety of tools such as torqueing, pneumatic and small hand tools, saws and grinders. In addition to this I have strong analytical skills, extensive knowledge of statistical methods and the ability to present test results in concise reports. All of these points combined with my ability to interpret technical drawings and accurately read mechanical sketches, leads me to the conclusion that I am the best person for your vacancy.
Although the attached resume will demonstrate my multiple strengths, what it may not show is my ability to provide coaching, mentoring and training to junior members of staff. This is something that I am very proud of and willing to do without being asked.
Besides my technical competencies I am a self-motivated individual who has the ability to work with a minimal level of supervision.
Finally, I would also like to mention that I am keen to work for a company like yours where original thinking is encouraged and hard work rewarded.
If you think that I am a deserving candidate for your vacancy then do not hesitate to contact me at your earliest to arrange an interview. I am available any time and place to meet with you in person.
