Responsible for offering support and companionship to her clients by helping them to handle their day-to-day self-care needs.


  • Enabling clients to become mobile by using specialist equipment such as wheelchairs etc.
  • Assisting with a client’s meal planning, preparation and serving.
  • Keeping a client’s family appraised of their condition and progress.
  • Strictly adhering to a company’s policies and procedures at all times.
  • Assisting the service user with getting in and out of bed and dressing the user when required.
  • Reading the customer notes prior to commencement of shift.
  • Assisting with personal care including skin care, bathing, shaving, oral care, toileting and hair care.
  • Undertaking safe manual handling practices, especially regarding assisting service users in their mobility.
  • Preparing snacks and meals according to the service users likes and dislikes.
  • Participating in staff, team and quality management review meetings as directed by the management team.
  • Keeping the registered manager informed of the outcomes and issues that are identified concerning health and safety issues.
  • Clearing of refuse and rubbish.
  • Helping service users to fill out medical and administrative forms.
