Dear Ms Graham,
Whilst browsing the adverts on the dayjob.com website I came across your vacancy for a Planning Manager. I was immediately attracted to it because I am looking for just such an opening.
I come to you as an analytical and methodical individual who can drive improvement and change in a large and complex organisation like yours that already has existing long-standing ways of working in place. I will do this by influencing a company’s planning system at local, regional and national levels.
In my present place of work I am known as the ‘go to person’ and the ‘planning expert’. In my role I play a leading part in the development and implementation of strategic and operational plans. On a daily basis I advise and guide the company’s Directors, Board of Governors and senior colleagues on a variety of planning issues. Through my work I have become adept at building strong relationships with colleagues so as to be able to influence strategically across the company.
The attached CV that came with this letter will also give evidence of my ability to identify and implement changes to services that will enhance corporate performance and service delivery. Further to the above, and as per your requirements I have experience of identifying, engaging with, and working in partnership with a variety of organisations and stakeholders.
Aside from my technical competencies I have the ability to communicate clearly, succinctly and persuasively both orally and in writing. Additionally, I can present complex information simply and in a way that is tailored to a specific audience.
Please feel free to contact me to arrange an interview, if you feel that I have the potential that you are looking for in a candidate.
