Dear Ms Graham,
I would like to be considered for your Security Guard position which I saw yesterday on the Dayjob.com website. During my career I have gained extensive experience of working in customer service orientated security roles like the one you are trying to fill, and therefore feel I would make an ideal candidate for your position.
I am able to provide you with five years of checkable and traceable work history, and am willing to be subjected any drugs screening test. In addition to this I have top quality references from my present/previous employers, and a bank of relevant industry certificates and accreditation documents. My core skills include, but are not limited to;
- Making environments secure and safe for all.
- Preventing theft, rowdy behaviour and vandalism.
- Handling sensitive and confrontational situations tactfully and in a diplomatic manner.
At the moment I am employed as a freelance security contractor for an Agency. I work long 12 hour shifts on construction sites, office blocks, shopping malls and airports. I am regularly involved in escorting VIP’s, fire marshalling, establishing where alarms have been triggered, co-ordinating fire evacuations and liaising with the emergency services.
On a personal level, I have a calm manner, polite attitude and smart appearance, all of which help me to portray a professional image to members of the public. In addition to this I have my own car, a clean driving license and am willing to travel to remote work sites.
I would also like to stress that I am keen to work for a company like yours, that has a reputation for offering its staff great benefits and opportunities for career development.
I can be contacted anytime by telephone on 0121 638 0026, or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange an interview.
Thank you very much for taking the time to review my application.
