Responsible for offering a tailoring service to men and women looking for something special to wear to events and ceremonies.

Duties;

  • Performing high quality work using industrial sewing machines.
  • Using industrial lock-stitch and over-lock machines.
  • Sewing coveralls, trousers, jackets and shirts using mainly cotton and poly cotton based fabrics.
  • Visiting clients in their home’s or office for pre booked appointments.
  • Taking in or letting out the waist area of pants and skirts to adjust the fit.
  • Assisting the cutting team where necessary with the folding, and cutting of cloth.
  • Verbally informing the Supervisor when the current job being worked on is completed.
  • Liaising with clients to draw and alter individual patterns to fit their measurements and garment style.
  • Making alterations both by needle and thread or sewing machine.
  • Measuring customers for size by using tape measure.
  • Hemming trousers to adjust the length.
  • Measuring and cutting webb, hem and Velcro to the required specification.
  • Ensuring personal work space is kept clean and tidy at all times.
  • Maintaining a basic level of Health & Safety in all work practices.
