How to write a Global CEO cover letter
A cover letter is an introduction to your CV and you as a candidate. Through it tell the recruiter where you saw the vacancy, who you are and what you can do. For a role like this that means showing you can provide strategic leadership and overall direction to the organisation across all international markets.
When writing it stick to a simple clear format that starts with a short introduction followed by a middle bit explaining your strengths and finishes off with a call to action, namely requesting interview invite.
Apart from mentioning your hard ‘technical skills’, such as your ability to monitor global market trends, risks, and competitor actions, also tell them about your sharp eye for detail, along with the ability to juggle priorities and meet deadlines. Employers want to see that you can look at long-term goals instead of getting stuck on daily tasks.
In your cover letter show you can:
- Adapt to regional variations and cross-border customer needs.
- Deliver revenue, profitability, growth, and shareholder-value objectives.
- Lead and motivate the global executive leadership team.
- Develop the overall strategic direction of the business.
- Travel extensively to various global locations as needed for business purposes.
Skills to include in your CV:
- Adaptability: Adjust quickly to foreign laws, economic shifts, and global disruptions.
