Dear Ms Graham,
Whilst browsing the dayjob.com website, I came across your vacancy for a Controller and was immediately attracted to it, primarily because I feel that I have all of the skills that you are looking for in a candidate.
I possess a quick practical brain that is always looking to try and see why financial problems occur and find creative ways to solve them.
Without wishing to sound boastful, I believe that I have what it takes to be the best in this challenging role. Through tenacity, resilience, resourcefulness and a collaborative approach I can implement and maintain finance related policies, procedures and controls. Furthermore, I have good technical accounting knowledge, excellent communication skills and strong Microsoft Excel know how. All of these competencies combined enable me to manage teams successfully towards the delivery of key goals.
In my current position I have created a culture that is focused but nurturing, positive and fun at the same time. At work I operate within a multidisciplinary team framework to prepare monthly reconciliations, launch financial initiatives and ensure that records and information are accurate.
On a personal level I have a flexible working style, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and environments. In addition to this I am proactive with regards to self-development and am keen to learn new skills. You can rely on me to work towards targets in an exceptionally competitive environment.
I am aware of your company’s excellent reputation and am keen to join an organisation like yours that will always open up new opportunities for ambitious existing employees. Subsequently I hope you will consider my application seriously and put me on a list of candidates who you are going to invite to interviews.
