From reading a job advert on the Dayjob.com website, I understand that you are looking for a capable Diabetes Specialist Nurse to become part of your existing healthcare team.
I can support people with Diabetes to manage their condition in a safe way, and help your team to deliver positive, long-term physical and psychological results to those it looks after.
I know the importance of this role, and the central position it occupies in the care and support patients and their families. I understand that this is a long-term condition that requires day-to-day self-care by the patient, and I want to reassure you of my ability to develop bespoke personal diabetes management plans that promote patient independence.
As you would expect from someone of my calibre, I am able to advice patients over the phone, see them in person in a clinic, or visit them at home. I can be an invaluable source of information, advice and support to those I look after as well as other general nurses. Additionally, having excellent communication skills also means that I have no trouble being the first point of contact for any patient queries.
Being a true professional, I am committed to providing the best care for my patients, and will do everything possible to prevent the onset of type 2 diabetes in them.
At the moment I work as part of an integrated diabetes team, that is the backbone of a specialist diabetes treatment and care department. As part of my duties I assess patients with diabetes who have complex needs, and act as an interface between the patient and other healthcare professionals. On average I treat up to 40 patients face to face and 30 over the phone each week.
On a personal level I am committed to constantly maintaining and expanding my knowledge of this specialised sector, primarily so that my patients can be sure they are receiving the best possible care.
