Responsible for being the hub of communication between the drivers, senior managers and clients.


  • Storing the primary and spare keys of dispatch vehicles.
  • Interpreting large amounts of dispatch information into readable and sensibly typed remarks, all in a timely manner.
  • Informing clients of situations that may impact their scheduled services or deliveries.
  • Reporting driver performance issues or concerns to the appropriate manager for resolution.
  • Working with route specialists to determine the more efficient routes to use.
  • Dispatching drivers to calls as they are received.
  • Maintaining the master list of all dispatch vehicles.
  • Monitoring driver check-ins.
  • Using GPS to track vehicle fleet.
  • Answering incoming telephone calls and obtaining the necessary information from callers.
  • Answering multiple telephone lines at the same time.
  • Airline flight time monitoring.
  • Making sure that the dispatch fleet of vehicles is parked up properly at the end of every shift.
  • Resolving potential delivery and pick-up problems before they result in service issues.
  • Scheduling driver assignments.
  • Scheduling route changes, road conditions, accidents and emergencies into dispatch planning.
  • Recommending improvements or modifications to working practices and employee performance.
  • Holding junior staff accountable for their actions.
  • Maintaining a variety of records, files and logs.
  • Relaying messages to crews using radio and telephone equipment.
  • Ensuring that all relevant information is recorded.
  • Assisting in routine office operations.
