Dear …………,

An organisation is only as good as the people it employs, and without wishing to sound boastful I believe that I am the best candidate for your recently advertised Social Worker vacancy.

I will always act with positive intent and have regard for the impact my decisions and actions will have on the individuals I look after.

I possess the correct mixture of maintaining professional relationships and acting as a guide and advocate, that you seek in an applicant. I have a track record of making positive changes to people’s lives and helped then get the right treatment. As a true professional I am not afraid to stand up for what I feel my service users should be getting. I am fully registered with the relevant health professional councils and governing bodies.

I come to you as someone who can organise people, activities, and resources to work for the benefit of vulnerable people. This combined with my ability to assist dysfunctional families to change bad habits and patterns, makes me a perfect candidate for your vacancy. Please be assured that I will have no problem being able to deliver evidenced based interventions to positively effect changes that safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.

For the last 3 years I have been employed by ……………. in a similar role to the one you are advertising. As part of my duties, I am responsible for participating in individual supervision sessions, and team meetings as required and then implementing any agreed actions and decisions. In addition to this I carry out regular reviews of individual plans, record outcomes and formulate plans based on those reviews. I have been commended by my superiors for demonstrating consistently high standards of practice in all my responsibilities. During my career I have learnt how to respect and maintain the dignity and privacy of service users at all times. I now possess an inbuilt positive attitude towards mentally taxing issues.

Aside from all the above, I consider myself a psychologically strong person who can be assertive in situations where people are displaying signs of aggression. Furthermore, I have the patience to successfully deal with complex cases and clients who may not progress as expected.

At this precise stage of my career, I am interested in joining an organisation like yours where I will enjoy a fantastic range of perks, benefits, and rewards along with ongoing professional development and training opportunities.

A complete list of my skills can be found in the attached resume that came with this letter.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch for an informal chat or to arrange an interview at a place and time of your choosing. Thank you very much for your time, consideration, and hopefully forthcoming positive response.

Yours sincerely,
