Responsible for undertaking a wide range of cleaning and caretaking duties.


  • Opening the building in the morning and locking it at the end of the day.
  • Carrying out routine regular maintenance checks on the school minibuses.
  • Conducting grounds maintenance tasks such as litter picking, snow clearing and gritting.
  • Undertaking carpentry duties such as fixing doors and skirting.
  • Carrying out minor repairs and decoration works.
  • Re-adjusting clocks regularly to ensure synchronicity, especially after power cuts or when clocks go back etc.
  • Using power and hand tools to get things done.
  • Sourcing, booking and supervising contractors for major repairs.
  • Supervising the work of cleaning staff.
  • Moving furniture and equipment as required.
  • Accepting deliveries as well as post and forwarding on mail to the correct individuals.
  • Erecting shelves and effecting minor repairs to furniture and fittings.
  • Working from 5.30am to 10.30am to prepare the building for the day.
  • Liaising with the police, security and surveillance contractors when required.
  • Carrying out regular litter patrols of the estate to keep premises, grounds and car park areas tidy.
  • Taking out the bins three times a week.
  • Doing all other ad hock tasks as instructed by management.

  • Knowledge of energy conservation methods.
  • Excellent understanding of electrical, plumbing or HVAC systems.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage a workload efficiently and independently.
  • Overseeing the operation and maintenance of heating plant and lighting systems.
  • An ability to work pro-actively both independently, and as part of a team.
