Responsible for supporting HR operational staff during the course of their duties.


  • Managing long term absence, occupational health referrals, medical reports, flexible working, maternity, paternity, shared parental leave etc.
  • Managing all HR administrative tasks associated with the employee lifecycle so that they are progressed efficiently.
  • Working with the procurement team to support supplier relationships with job boards, social media, agencies etc.
  • Developing professional relationships with all internal and external partners.
  • Engaging in professional development and networking to ensure that professional and strategic contributions are up-to-date.
  • Creating job adverts for new vacancies and managing this accordingly.
  • Providing HR Support and guidance to line managers on HR policies and practices and employee relations issues.
  • Supporting in the delivery of change management projects e.g. TUPE (Transfer of Undertakings, Protection of Employment) Regulations 1981, team restructures etc.

  • Solid experience in recruitment practice.
  • Able to prioritise, plan and organise a varied workload, with accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Training on developments in FE as they impact on HR services.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team whilst communicating relevant information to the business area.
  • Effective team worker, able to provide support to colleagues and work flexibly on own initiative.
  • Understanding of HR databases.
  • Excellent social media skills including using LinkedIn as a sourcing tool.
  • Up to date knowledge of employment legislation.
