Your recent advert on the Dayjob.com website for a Cook caught my eye as it appeared to be a perfect match for my experience, skills, and future potential.
I consider myself the perfect candidate for your great role.
As soon as I read that you require someone who can achieve food cost targets and objectives as set down by the Restaurant Manager, I knew this was a position for me. As I can not only do this, but also oversee the maintenance of kitchen and food safety standards.
With my practical experience of being able to operate in a high pressure, fast paced environment, I am confident I can make an immediate impact on your operations.
Since 2019 I have been employed by …………., where I am in charge of creating wonderful dishes inspired by local and seasonal products. In addition to this I am also responsible for ensuring minimum kitchen wastage.
Through my career in the catering industry, I have learnt how to operate well within a close-knit team.
On a personal level I am very much a hands-on individual who has superb attention to detail and a positive work attitude. I have a love for food and am looking to build a long term career in the hospitality sector.

However, whilst it shows my ability to cook, it may not show that I am a physically fit person who is able to remain in a standing position for long periods of time.
