I would like to propose my candidacy for your position of an Accounts Assistant, which I saw advertised yesterday on the Dayjob.com website. With many years experience of processing high volumes of invoices and credit notes in accordance with strict finance guideline, I feel I would make an ideal candidate for your vacancy.
At the moment I am employed in a similar role to the one you are trying to fill, by Southern Water. I am responsible for supporting the company’s Financial Controller in all aspects of accounts, such as reconciling monthly customer statements, raising sales invoices, order checking, credit control, maintaining legers, payroll control and paying creditors.
I have tons of enthusiasm, lots of energy and on a personal basis am someone who is prepared to undertake any reasonable duties other than those for which I have been specifically employed.
I am a logically minded professional who is solutions-focused and has a “can do” attitude. Having a good head for numbers makes it easier for me to concentrate for long periods of time and work under pressure. In addition to this I am comfortable working with different IT Accountancy software packages, such as Sage, Excel and MS Office.
Right now I am interested in expanding my professional horizons and working for a company like yours where everyone works together because everyone counts.
In addition to this letter I have also attached my current resume which will give you a more comprehensive idea of my administrative competencies.
