Cleaner CV personal summary
A well written personal summary can greatly enhance a CV and increase your chances of success.
In your statement give details about your background, highlight key aspects of your employment history and stress your future career ambitions. Explain all of this in a few short sentences and one small paragraph.
It serves as an introduction to you as a candidate and gives the recruiter a snapshot of who you are and what you can do. For maximum effect it has to be short, impactful and straightforward.
Cleaner work experience
When writing about you career history, detail your previous roles, responsibilities, and accomplishments in reverse chronological order. If possible back up what you say with tangible evidence of the impact you’ve had on the operations of previous employers with percentages, facts and figures.
For each role, give the job title, company name, location, employment dates and then in a bulleted list explain you most relevant, duties, responsibilities and achievements.
Avoid long sentences with fancy words and instead concentrate on keeping things concise and to the point. Also, try to ensure every duty you list aligns with a requirement of the position you’re applying for, otherwise, that’s all you’re submitting is a redundant sentence.
Skills section
Skills are competencies that you have acquired over the years. There’s a wide range of skills that recruiters seek from sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors to following established cleaning procedures and safety guidelines. If you have any of these then be sure to include them in this section.
When explaining your skills try to detail what the actual outcomes were of using them. This will show their effect and result in real world terms and allow recruiters to measure their impact.
To really tick all the boxes the employer wants in a candidate, refer back to the job description to find out the skills they want from a candidate and list them word for word in your CV.
