Dear Ms Graham,
Your posting on Dayjob.com for a volunteering position caught my eye because I am currently looking for just such an opening.
I speak the language of the web and can lead the charge in all things website related.
I come to you as someone who is hell-bent on making sure that any site I create is not only aesthetically stunning, but also gets found in Google. I take a business-focused approach to web design, meaning I put together engaging sites which will drive traffic and encourage interaction and engagement with new and existing audiences. With me you will get someone who only build a website that will meet the demands of your company.
In my current role I have been commended for producing maps and visualisations of the site to help staff understand the structure and function of the website. I have been instrumental in embedding digital skills into the wider organisation.
On a personal level I have an open-minded, flexible and positive attitude towards my work. I am not afraid to challenge any current thinking about the web and am prepared to think outside of the box to find solutions to problems. Furthermore, as a sociable communicator I find it easy to influence senior leaders by gaining their trust and confidence.
In closing I would like to say how much I would appreciate an opportunity to meet up with you in person to discuss my application in more detail. Thank you for your time, consideration and forthcoming response.
